Since 1990 the proportion of undernourished people in the developing world has fallen by almost half. Nevertheless, today there are still 795 million people without enough food. With the world’s population growing by hundreds of thousands each day, plant science innovations will be vital to help meet the United Nation’s (UN) ambitious goal to end world hunger by 2030.
