Farmer Voices at the World Food Prize
As the United Nations gathered the world in 2021 with an ambition to transform global food systems and as it becomes clearer that we are not on track to meet the 2030 Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) during this Decade of Action, it is more vital than ever for a variety of farmer voices to be heard in these discussions.
CropLife International, CropLife America, and the Global Farmer Network held a virtual side event discussion at the 2021 World Food Prize International Borlaug Dialogues. Our moderator led a lively roundtable of farmers on challenges they face around the world: climate change, soil health, biodiversity, policy, and trade barriers. The session included virtual farm tours and recommendations for solutions that will help transform food systems in a meaningful way for farmers, the environment, and the planet.
The ag trade news site Farm Progress published a nice write-up on the session.
